International Theatrical Program for young female playwrights

The OFTF offers an unrivaled curriculum that is thorough in training and experience.
Designed for the most dedicated playwrights, the program offers a comprehensive array of theatre courses amid the hub of New York City's Theatre scene.
Our courses hone the intricate process of crafting a full-length stageplay or a screenplay.

The Curriculum

Intensive Training - 30 hours (1 month or 3-months programs are available)

  • Weekly private lessons.
    (Professor's assignments shall be based on a student's professional portfolio)
  • Acting Classes
  • Acting Seminars taught by distinguished industry professionals 
  • Lectures and Seminars on Specific Production Topics 
  • Workshop Topics: Format and Stage Literary Craft for playwrights, The Art of Production, The Business of Theatre and Film

The Soul of Theatre (included into the Curriculum)

  • Monthly Performances: Saturday Matinees at The OFTF Academy
  • End of semester performances at Community venues (churches, public schools, libraries, and art galleries, Black Box theatres)  
  • Annual theatre & film presentations at Professional Venues (The Frederick Douglas Creative Arts Center, Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, Jewel Box Theatre, Oxford University, Pushkin House, etc.)

New York Multi-cultural Theatre experience (included into the Curriculum)

  • Attending monthly theatre repertoire:
    • New York University's Skirball Theatre
    • Actors studio
    • Negro Ensemble Company
  • Organized fieldtrips to
    • Leading Theaters: Cherry Lane Theatre , La Mama Theatre, The Players Theatre, etc.
    • World Class Cultural Cites: Metropolitan, MOMA, Morgan Library, Guggenheim, and Frick Collection.
